Relevant data shows that China’s new energy vehicle sales continued to grow from 2017 to 2020, increasing from 579,000 vehicles in 2017 to 1,245,700 vehicles in 2020. China’s total automobile sales in 2021 will be 21.5 million units, of which new energy vehicle sales, including pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles, will be 3.334 million units, accounting for 16%. It is expected that China’s new energy vehicle sales will reach 4.5176 million units in 2022.
With further national policy support and industry technology development, consumer preference for new energy vehicles is expected to increase, and the penetration rate of new energy passenger vehicles is expected to climb from 15.5% in 2021 to 20.20% in 2022. China will be the world’s largest new energy vehicle market, providing long-term market opportunities for companies related to the global new energy vehicle industry.
Judging from the sales structure of new energy vehicles in my country, pure electric passenger vehicles account for the largest share of sales. According to data, my country’s new energy vehicle passenger car sales accounted for approximately 94.75% in 2021; new energy commercial vehicle sales accounted for only 5.25%.
Analyzing the reasons, from the perspective of new energy commercial vehicle types, my country’s new energy commercial vehicles mainly include new energy buses and new energy trucks. New energy commercial vehicles are mainly used to transport people and goods in terms of design and technical characteristics. At this stage, the cruising range of my country’s new energy vehicle power batteries cannot fully meet the needs of passenger cars and trucks, and they do not have an advantage in power compared with fuel vehicles. Moreover, my country’s current basic equipment such as new energy vehicle charging piles is not perfect enough, and problems such as inconvenient charging and long charging times still exist. Commercial vehicles are mainly used to transport people and goods. Commercial vehicle companies usually maximize economic benefits. I don’t want to spend more time charging. Therefore, in terms of the current production and sales structure of new energy vehicles in my country, the proportion of commercial vehicles is much lower than that of passenger vehicles.
